Pizza Crust - Coughlan family

This pizza crust was posted by In A Shoe, a family in Texas that blogs. It's also where we got our dogs. This is the softest crust and so yummy. We've even made cinnamon sticks with it. Yum! We've added seasonings to the crust, but don't add them if you're making a dessert pizza.

2 cups flour + 3-4 more cups (in a separate bowl)
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp yeast
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp garlic powder (not for dessert pizza)
2 tbsp oregano (not for dessert pizza)
1 tbsp parsley (not for dessert pizza)

Stir together, then add:
2 cups warm water
½ cup oil

Beat til smooth.
Stir in 3-4 cups additional flour until dough is stiff enough to turn out and knead.
Knead 3-5 minutes, until smooth and no longer sticky, adding flour as necessary.
Let rest 10 minutes or let rise for an hour in an oiled bowl.
Pat into pans greased with shortening for a crispy crust. Be careful not to make holes by pulling or stretching. Rather, press down with hands and fingers, forcing the dough to squish where you want it to go.
Top as desired and bake, 20-25 minutes at 375°.

To prebake the crusts, let it rise a few minutes then cook 10-12 minutes at 325°.
top and bake an additional 15 minutes at 400° to desired doneness.

I finally made pizza with this crust. It was the softest, best rising, yummiest crust ever! I need to figure out some seasonings to add to it. We love the crust with all the garlic and butter on the edge. Yum!
